Calendar Club

Here are some of the cards members made at the Calendar Club meeting last week.

This is absolutely my FAVORITE club. We started this club five years ago. Besides actually getting birthday cards done and in the mail every month; we play with new stamps and stuff each month and learn new techniques. Since we've been doing this awhile it's also a terrific social time for me so the "artist" side of me doesn't spend too much alone time with the stamps and toys.

Annette was up from Texas so some of the Topeka crowd got together at Jessica's for a swap last week. This is one of the designs I sent. I love the purse look and thought that it needed to be more than just a card. It makes a great little photo album.
Happy stamping...

Benefit Cards

These are the cards I donated for the A.J. Black benefit last weekend. The benefit raised almost $3,000.

I put them in a cello bag with a card and ornament. The card included a message that, "these holiday cards...were created specifically for the A.J. Black fundraiser" and was signed and dated. Something I only do on special cards/projects. It was a great party...I'm sure someone has pics. ;-)

Calendar Project

This is one of the projects I worked on this week. I used the calendar idea from the Stamping Extravaganza camp but I made it smaller - so it would fit on a picture easel. It stands about 7" high.
My other big project was a special 70th anniversary card for my aunt & uncle in Michigan. I had to get it in the mail so don't have a photo for you. They are very special folks - can you imagine 70 years together?
I have lots to talk about this morning. I will be at the studio this afternoon if you want to catch up in person...
TILES - Courtney asked where the tiles came from. These tiles came from a flooring company but sometimes you can find them at Home Depot or Lowes. If folks are interested in making these, let me know. We can figure out a time to get together or schedule a class if several folks want to make tiles. (Same thing goes for the easel calendar or anything else you see on here - just let Jeanna or I know. We love to stamp with you!).
SPECIAL EVENTS THIS WEEK - I will be participating in an open house and a fundraiser this week. My friend KC is having an open house for her Personal Power Pilates studio. I will be there with a stamping display and cards for sale. Jockey clothing will be represented and other direct sales too. Monday and Wednesday 5-7 p.m. Personal Power Pilates is located inside Pinnacle, behind Arby's on 23rd street. Come on by.
The fundraiser is for A.J. Black. He has Aplastic Anemia, a rare disease (3 people in a million) affecting the bone marrow. The party is Friday, November 14th at Shenago Lounge, 15th & Wakarusa. It starts at 8 p.m. with a DJ and hors d'oeuvres provided by Clan Chaos. I will be donating cards from I Stamp. It's $5.00 at the door - all proceeds go to A.J.'s family.
That's all for now, I'll see you at I Stamp.

Stamping Extravaganza Projects

Projects from the "Stamping Extravaganza" camp in Topeka this past weekend. Three of the projects used the new Big Shot from Stampin' Up!(r). I've not used a die cutter before but now I have to have one... The coasters have a monagram (you can't see it in this photo) that was cut from vinyl used in the new Deocor Elements line. Very cool. Makes that die cutter even more versatile. Stampin' Up!(r) sells the vinyl too.

Halloween stamping

Last week's stamping projects included a Halloween card and mini photo albums.
I updated the class calendar for November. The first crop will be Sunday, November 23rd. November's stamping class will be "Thanks and Giving" a collection of Fall decorating and last minute holiday gifts.
The Studio will be closed the next two Saturdays. This weekend I will be attending a stamp camp in Topeka with several of my Stampin' Up! (r) team and friends. Next weekend I will be out of town with my sister for our semi-annual road trip.

Halloween Tree

This week's project was a Halloween tree. Thought you might like to see it... All of the ornaments were simple to make. The ghosts are heat embossed and cut out. The paper chain is made from strips of patterned paper. The balls are made from scallop circle punches. The jack-o-lanterns were made with an oval punch.
