Paper Pumpkin Play Day

I had a Paper Pumpkin play day this week. Paper Pumpkin is Stampin' Up!'s (SU) monthly stamping kit. I don't alway sit right down to play with my kits so sometimes I invite other subscribers over to play and catch up.

This month I saw a really cute alternative (not what the SU directions say) project that Debbie Henderson posted on Pinterest. Her blog is debbiesdesignsblog.blogspot.com.

Here is my version.

The kit includes materials to make 8 cards but I used parts of 3, to make the box. I also used the Crazy About You set for the big flowers.

Card Bar is at the Lake

It's a long time coming but the Card Bar has come to the lake. Finally! Really!

Go Fast Betty's in Osage Beach has started Ladies Night on Thursdays.  The Card Bar will be there on February 26th. That's next Thursday. 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.  Come out and join us.

Lotus Blossom & Big Day

First up today is Lotus Blossom. A 3-step stamp set. It is designed to give you wonderful shading using only one (or two) colors of ink.

You Brighten My Day & Big Day

Here is another card that uses the You Brighten My Day stamp set. A very quick card that shows off the Best Year Ever designer paper and accessory pack.





The Best Year Ever accessory pack has three rolls of ribbon and 24 buttons in Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana. These coordinate with the Best Year Ever designer paper which also uses Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Whisper White. Both of these items are FREE during Sale-A-Bration.

Sale-A-Bration Swap Cards

Stampin' Up!'s annual Sale-A-Bration (SAB) event is going on. This week I will be showing you cards showcasing some of the stamps and products you can earn free during SAB.

First up - Best Day Ever stamp set and Irresistibly Yours specialty paper.





You can see the shine from the resist on the specialty paper. It was sponged with Pear Pizzaz ink to show off the leaf pattern.

This next card also uses the Best Day Ever set. The background is the bokeh technique.

Paper Pumpkin Shaker Cards

I said I would show you the inspiration for my birthday, shaker card in my last post.

These are the cards made with the December Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up!





The kit has supplies to make nine cards Three of each greeting. They went together fairly quickly too.





Here is a close up of the birthday one. Of course I had to order a the new Star Border Confetti punch so I could have stars for all the rest of shaker cards I am going to make.

Shaking Up Some Birthday Greetings

Have you ever made a shaker card? LOTS of fun. I received a Silhouette Portrait e-cutter for Christmas. I cut out the "happy" frame on my Silhouette and glued it to a wider white frame. Then I glued on a window sheet (acetate cut to size). Then I added some double-stick foam tape around the edge of the window sheet. You have to make sure it doesn't stick out into the window.
Then I put a pile of confetti/sequins/punched shapes on the center of the card and put the frame down. Fun, fun, fun!





This card was inspired by the December Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up! I'll show you those cards later this week.

I cased this card from Pinterest. I loved it the way it was so didn't change anything but the overall size of the card.

Today's cards are just plain, FUN!!! Do you celebrate with "ugly sweaters"? LOL we used to have a blast with it when I worked at KU. I won't show you all of them...














These cards were inspired by a fun post I saw on Damask Love's blog. The sweater die and the heavy card stock used for the card bases are not from Stampin' Up! but everything else I used is.

Here is another card that uses the Tree Punch from Stampin' Up! I'm back to layers with one. I must admit that I am a lot more comfortable when there is "layering" going on.

Today's cards use the scraps from punching out all the small snowflakes. Another nine cards. Yay me!














I made another card using the "Happy Holidays" punchouts from the tags.  After glueing 13 letters onto twine, I decided I was done.  There are still some pieces left but I'm ready to move on to some other cards.  What a time saver though. Over 30 cards from one Paper Pumpkin kit.

These cards use the scrap left from punching out the big snowflakes used on yesterday's cards. If you actually use your scraps - you aren't a hoarder! I used card stock, designer paper and ribbon from my stash. The small silver snowflakes were included in the kit.

You all know I love card kits. I especially love the Paper Pumpkin kits from Stampin' Up! The November kit contained stuff for 8 cards and 12 gift tags. I made the cards using the instructions (more or less).

January Paper Pumpkin Cards

Here are the cards I made with January's Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up! 
The kit included four cards - which I cut in half so I could make eight cards.  I like a larger size so I cut my cardstock to 9" by 5 3/4".  Then I scored the 9" side at 4 1/2".  When folded, the cards measured 5 3/4" x 4 1/2". 

This was a hard kit for me.  Too many little pieces.  I like my cards to be cleaner.  I put my big girl panties on and went for it though.  I think they turned out ok. I received a freebie bag of In-Color medallions in my kit so I used a couple of those.

I did use some stamps and other stuff that wasn't included in the kit. Nothing wrong with using from my stash.  

Tip:  I know the card accents are self-adhesive but I have found that it is better to add some additional glue.  It may just be climate factors but I have found some coming off if they aren't glued to the cards.  You might not have this problem where you live.  Of course if you are mailing them somewhere else...better glue 'em down.

Special Request Cards

People ask me if I make "special" cards.  (I think all my cards are special. Even the icky ones - they are just special in a bad way...)  

YES, yes I do.  Here are a couple I made a few weeks ago. These are for young people, requested by their grandma.  She loves her grand kids so I make "special" cards just for them. One plays football and the other one plays basketball.
